From patriotic bathing suits to finding a fun and festive hat that fits, I have listed some of the absolute tall-girl essentials you’ll need for the Fourth.
There is truly nothing more American than the Fourth of July. When I think of July Fourth, I can’t help but think of fireworks, cookouts, time with the family, and all things patriotic.
While each year varies, I love being able to spend the fourth of July in my small beach hometown. Not only does our town throw an annual parade, but there are beach bonfires, firework shows, and usually a fun boat ride out to the Plymouth area to enjoy a day of fun in the sun! This year, the Fourth falls on a Monday, which means that I will be packing for a long weekend to spend at home with the family.
While I typically refer to my beachy boho and boho minimalist style for the summer months, the Fourth of July is a time to bring out the specific red, white and blue colors of my wardrobe to pack along with me. And you really can’t go wrong as long as the weather holds up, with jeans, tanks, sandals and, of course, your fav swimsuits and cover- ups 🙂
As a tall girl, I know the struggle of trying to pack all of your items into a medium-sized vacation bag which is just another reason why I love the simplicity and light layers that the summer weather wardrobe allows you to pack! So here are some of my favorite affordable and tall-girl-approved items for stylish Fourth of July outfit ideas!
A Patriotic Bathing Suit
As non-original as it may sound, I always bring at least a red bikini to celebrate the holiday in style. You can find some favorite brands for tall inclusive sizing swimwear to search for a quality red swimsuit! For an affordable Fourth of July bikini, check out the popular amazon best seller brand, Zaful, for this cute red bikini!
Cover-Ups
As mentioned earlier in the spring, I LOVE Amazon’s selection, especially for affordable tall girl cover-ups! For beachy boho enthusiasts like myself, be sure to check out this crochet cover-up! This will be sure to make it into my luggage as this is the go-to pool/beach day cover-up for the hottest of summer days especially when you want a cover-up that you can throw on after a dip in the water to dry off:)
Jumpsuit
I have been LOVING this denim jumpsuit from Old Navy, and it is absolutely perfect for a Fourth of July cookout!
Shorts
Of course, it wouldn’t be a summer weekend if you didn’t pack your jean shorts! Pair my fav tall girl shorts with a red top or a white top and a bucket hat, and you are good to go for a casual Fourth of July outfit! Plus, the jean shorts can double as a cover-up 😉
Cardigan
Who doesn’t love a good cardigan they can throw over themselves to match most outfits?! When the temps start to dip at night, you’ll want either this beachy boho cardigan or this oversized knit cardigan to warm you up!
Hats and Hair Accessories
Anyone who knows me knows I love a good hat moment, especially when it comes to protecting my hair and face from the summer sun. Unfortunately, I always had trouble finding well-fitted summer hats, but luckily for those of you who have the same problem, I have shared my favorite brand of sun hats for large heads!
On this Fourth of July, don’t be scared to get a little funky and sport a fun hat or hair accessory you may not usually wear. I recently purchased a crochet bucket hat from Steve Madden and received so many compliments on it.
I love that it blends the nineties and boho vibes together to bring you a unique but very on-trend styled hat! Check out this crochet bucket hat from Steve Madden on Amazon. I also have been eyeing this adorable straw bucket hat with the floral bead details! Somehow the one size fits all worked for me when it came to Steve Madden, so for boho babes with larger-sized heads like me, consider Steve Madden for stylish hats this fourth and beyond!
Sunscreen
Finally, wearing sunscreen is one of my biggest beauty secrets, especially during the summer months when you’re spending a lot of time outdoors. I will be packing my three favorites, which are clean beauty products you can find here! Supergoop is always my go-to for sensitive skin and skin that tends to break out in the late summers and with seasonal changes.
