This weekend I am in Tampa for the Easter weekend to spend the holiday with the fam and hopefully have some fun in the sun! The weather is HOT in Tampa right now and the sun is so strong which means that I need the most sun protection a girl can get because my pale Irish skin doesn’t handle the strong sun well. As many of you know, I have joined the clean beauty movement so when it comes to SPF I am very selective of the products that I apply to my skin, making sure that they indeed pass the clean beauty standards (see my post on finding clean makeup products). Additionally, I have very sensitive skin that is oily and prone to breakouts so in addition to passing the clean beauty standard they need to be gentle enough on my skin to not clog my pores. Being that I need both clean beauty and sensitive products, I stick to just a few brands when it comes to SPF products. So for those of you who are in need of some SPF products and have similar concerns to my own, I am sharing these two brands that are a favorite of mine for those makeupless beach/ pool days!
My Favorite Clean Beauty SPF Products:
For Eyes: Bright-Eyed 100% Mineral Eye Cream SPF 40
As mentioned in my review of supergoop cc cream and more– I do not leave the house without this product on my eyes. We often forget to cover out eyelids and there aren’t a ton of products advertised for coverage in this specific area but this is one of those few that you want to consider! I apply this after putting on my eye cream for the day. This may seem on the pricey side but this bottle gets used almost every day and lasts me many many months.
This blends excellently into my skin- truly making it the most unseen sunscreen I could wear on a no makeup beach day!
For Face: Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen
This is a product that I just tried out this year from Supergoop! and I can see why it is one of their more popular items! This is seriously the best unseen sunscreen out there with no oily residue left behind after application. I don’t know how they did it but this is a clear formula that applies to your skin with ease and perfect for those like myself who have naturally oily skin for those days when I don’t want to wear makeup but also don’t want a greasy/oily looking face. I am a huge fan of the mattescreen too but for the days that I want a very natural skin look – the unseen sunscreen is where it’s at.
For Body: Thinkbaby SPF 50
This may say for babies but I use this an adult and find it works perfectly at keeping my skin protected and free of breakouts! Being an aunt, I was introduced to this brand a few summers ago and have been using it ever since. The zinc oxide is a huge plus and seems to be the biggest difference in keeping my skin free of sunburns even on the days with hours spent outdoors!
