Winter Maternity Date Night Outfit Ideas | Tips and Tricks

January 17, 2023

With my due date getting closer and closer, it’s only natural that my baby bump has been getting bigger and bigger!

Being that I’m so far along in my pregnancy journey, I have had to buy new clothes to accommodate my growing belly. And while there are so many cute maternity clothing options out there, they are still harder to come by than non-maternity outfits.

One way I’ve navigated my relationship while pregnant is by going on dates with my husband.

Luckily, I have found some super cute maternity closet staples, some of which I have used to put together outfits for date nights with my husband!

So here are a few of my recent favorite date night ensembles.

Leggings/Jeans + an Oversized Sweater

One of the cutest winter date night looks IMO is the leggings/jeans and long chunky sweater combo. Now that I’m super far along in my pregnancy journey, I have definitely had a hard time finding maternity pants to wear, especially as a 6’2.5” girl, but luckily I have found some brands that cater to tall maternity jeans and leggings

The thing I love about the jeans and chunky sweater look is that it can easily transition from day to night without you having to change anything! If you do want to take things up a notch before heading out with your boo, add some dangly earrings or throw on some chunky heeled boots for a slightly more elevated look.

Leggings, OTK Boots + a Cardi/Poncho

You can elevate this look easily for a slightly fancier date night with the right jewelry and the right wrap/cardi/poncho, as you can see in the above picture of me.  Pairing this combo with OTK boots sets the tone perfectly for a date night look. The best part is that you get to feel comfortable all night long and stylish.

Midi Skirt + Faux Leather Jacket

When I want to feel feminine with a little bit of an edge, I’ll go for a midi skirt with a faux leather jacket. Something about this date night combo makes me feel both super girly and comfortable without looking too dressed up. Opt for a tie waist if you are shopping for midi skirts so that they can expand with your bump!

The other great thing about this look is that you have several different shoe choices to work with. For a more casual look, pair it with sneakers. On the other hand, if you’re going for glam, some cute heels would also look amazing with this fit.

Sweater Dress + Boots

During the winter months, I practically live in sweater dresses and boots. When it comes to date nights with my husband, I love a flattering sweater dress paired with knee-high boots.

Since brown and tan colors are super in right now, I’ve been playing with different shades of these colors when putting together my date night looks. I have been rocking the look of rich chocolate brown sweater dresses paired with tan or brown boots for an earthy but feminine look.
