Fall is one of the most romantic times for date nights with the boo. So here are some practical fall date night outfits to help you look your best.
Is it just me, or does anyone else feel extra romantic in the fall? Maybe it’s the slight chill in the air that makes me wanna snuggle or the fact that the arrival of fall also means the holiday season is right around the corner. Either way, I find myself looking forward to date nights that revolve around all fun fall activities, which means I’m always shopping for cute chilly weather outfits!
Choosing an outfit to wear on a date night depends on what activities we have planned. So, I thought it would be helpful to put together a list of fall date night outfit ideas based on some of my favorite fall night activities!
Dinner and a Scary Movie
If you and your s/o are headed out for dinner and a movie, I find that a pair of jeans is always a safe bet. In the fall, I tend to reach for black or darker washes of denim, and I’ll pair my jeans with a cute sweater for the dinner and then bring an extra added layer for the movie theater because movie theaters are cold AF. Hence my love for Pixie Mood and their vegan totes to stylishly wear a larger bag to a dinner date to store extra layers.
Pumpkin Patch or Apple Picking
If you’re spending time outdoors on your date, you’ll want to check the weather ahead of time to assess what you should wear. For outdoor dates, I suggest dressing comfy and practical. Carpenter and loose-fitted slouchy jeans are in this fall and depending on your weather you can wear these with almost any top. If you live in the South or you are apple-picking during a warm September day, opt for loose-fitted jeans, sneakers, and a tight-fitted sleeveless sweater top and pair it with a lightweight cardi or shrug.
Drive-In Movie
Going to the drive-ins is so much fun and can be a great memory to look back on with your partner. You can’t go wrong with a pair of black leggings and a comfy oversized hoodie for this date. Be sure to bring some blankets in case the temperatures drop while you’re there!
Football Game
Who doesn’t love watching a football game in the fall? But, if you’re going to a game, be prepared to get a little cold, and dress accordingly. Jeans are great for football games, and I always like to wear a long sleeve thermal shirt as my base layer and bring a fall jacket in case it rains or you just need the layer. A cute beanie is also the perfect touch to make it more casual and sporty in my opinion. Last season, I wore straight-legged jeans with a pair of my Mazzy combat-style boots and a cute sweater shirt with a rain jacket and beanie and I definitely felt stylish but loved it for a cute outfit pic.
