If you are a snack person, like myself, chances are you find yourself frequenting the snack aisle section, trying to find yummy go options to keep yourself happy and hangry free. My personal favorite go to snack option is trail mix-  its provides enough variety, fuel and also serves as another way for me to eat my favorite, chocolate. While I often find myself searching for trail mix at the store- I find myself coming up short due to the fact that so many trail mixes seem to use cashews and I have a sensitivity to cashews. So as a result, I have turned to stocking up on these ingredients to make a protein packed sweet trail mix of my own!  making my own trail mix that is tailored to that of a sweet tooth lovers delight. Consider these variations to great your own trail mix or to have as options for a tasty trail mix!

Ingredients: 

  • 1 oz of almonds
  • 3 handfuls of chocolate chips (I love using Ghirardelli 60% dark chocolate)
  • 1 oz of walnuts
  • 1 oz of pumpkin seeds
  • 1 oz of craisins
  • 1 oz of dried cherries
