With the cold weather starting to roll in, I’ve been hunting for a tall girl-friendly winter jacket that will last me all season long and replace my light fall jacket. As a tall girl, however, it isn’t always easy to find clothes that fit me and look cute without shopping at specialty stores.
With the body inclusivity movement becoming more widespread, I have been pleasantly surprised by how many mainstream brands and retailers are starting to carry clothes in various sizes to fit various body types. Shopping for a winter coat has always been a challenge for me, but lately, I have seen so many cute ones that come with a little more length for all of us tall girls!
Here are a few of my favorite winter coats this year:
Save the Duck Women’s Samantah Faux Fur Lined Hooded Parka In Rainy Beige
This is my go-to jacket, and you may have even seen me wearing it on my IG Stories. I would for sure size up, especially if you are a tall girl. I sized up and the sleeves were a great length and the jacket hits a little below mid-thigh. This is a splurge-worthy jacket that is 100% worth it, IMO. It’s insanely comfy and most importantly, animal-friendly and a brand I support.
Aritzia Super Puff Long – Everyone needs a big puffer jacket in their love, and this one from Aritizia is well-loved for a reason. I love that it comes in so many lengths, which is perfect for tall girls like me and those harsh winter days when you want to be as bundled up as possible!
Abercrombie Women’s Ultra Long Puffer – Finally, a puffer that offers tall girl length and comes in XS to XXL. I love this classic winter puffer look, with a twist with faux vegan leather, and it is perfect for us tall ladies.
Amazon Angashion Women’s Fuzzy Fleece Lapel Open Front Long Cardigan Coat – There’s something about this sherpa coat that is just so effortlessly cool, like model-off-duty vibes. I love throwing a coat like this over a little black dress and tights before heading out for a date night with my husband, but it would also look great with a more casual outfit, like a good-fitting pair of jeans and a cashmere sweater.
Everlane Renew Anorak – A classic anorak jacket is also a winter closet staple, and the earth tones of this one from Everlane are absolutely to die for. An anorak jacket like this is great for mild winter days when you don’t necessarily need to bundle up a lot.
