If you know me, you know that I’m a hopeless romantic. Ever since I can remember, I have always loved romcoms, love songs, and Valentine’s Day. A common misconception is that you need to be in a relationship to celebrate Valentine’s Day, but even when I was single, I still found ways to spread a little love on February 14th.
Whether you’re in a committed relationship, casually dating, or single, here are some super cute Valentine’s Day date ideas that will make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside!
Find A Bar/Restaurant With Special Celebrations For Valentine’s Day
I know that when I was living in Dallas, there were tons of cute bars that went all out for Valentine’s Day. The decorations alone were enough to entice you to check out their food and drink menu.
Cook Dinner Together
IMO, it doesn’t matter if you’re a professional chef or a total newbie; cooking is fun and a great way to spend Valentine’s Day!
If you aren’t super experienced in the kitchen, try an at-home meal kit like HelloFresh that will show you how to make a delicious home-cooked meal step-by-step. If baking is more your thing, whip up a batch of cupcakes (or a layer cake if you’re feeling ambitious) and curl up on the couch with your fresh-baked goodies and a festive movie.
Plan a Day of “Favorites”
This is a great idea if you’re in a serious relationship, but it can also be super cute between friends! Plan a day when you and your loved one do your favorite things together.
For instance, if you’re both bookworms who love drinking coffee and spending time outdoors, make plans to grab a coffee, stop by your local bookstore and pick out some books you’ve wanted to read, and finish off the day with a nice long walk around your city or at a nearby park. I love this date idea because it is so customizable and can be catered to any specific interests you both have.
Go To One Of The Bars/ Restaurants Where You Had Your First Date
If you are in the same city or still living nearby, go to the bar that you both remember loving on one of your first few dates. Even better, if it’s the place where you first met or first became official. This was an activity that my husband and I did pre-Valentine’s day right before moving from Dallas to Tampa. It was a special night to be in that place where one of the best memories was made – officially becoming a couple.
Check Out Things To Do In Your City For Valentine’s Day Weekend
Each city usually has a guide with special events being hosted in honor of Valentine’s Day. Whether it’s a wine and paint night out or a special showing or a restaurant opening there are lots of VDay plans to find out about!
