Best Movies of 2022

I Want You Back

I Want You Back is a light-hearted rom-com we could all use on a weekend night in. If you appreciate sarcastic and self-deprecating humor, then you will enjoy the main characters and their quest to help each other out and win back their exes.

Where To Watch: Prime Video

Where The Crawdads Sing

Based on the New York Times bestselling book of the same name, Where the Crawdads Sing is a coming-of-age murder mystery. This is by FAR my favorite film. Between the acting (Daisy Edgar-Jones is now a favorite actress of mine) and the story this is a must-watch regardless of your preference in genres!

Where To Watch: Netflix

No Exit

No Exit is another mystery thriller about a girl who finds herself stuck in a snowstorm and taking lodge with four other strangers. The main character finds herself in a scary situation when she spots a girl in one of the stranger’s cars. Not knowing who to trust, she tries to find a way to help the young girl to safety.

Where To Watch: Hulu

Fresh

This is a unique blend of horror and thriller with a tiny bit of comedy. Starring the talented Daisy Edgar-Jones (Where The Crawdads Sing), who finds herself in a terrifying dating situation.

Where To Watch: Hulu

Deep Water

This mystery stars two big stars, Ana De Armas and Ben Affleck, in a can’t-miss performance. If you like mystery and scandal, this movie is for you! It may not be a top mystery thriller but it was for sure scandalous and mysterious.

Where To Watch: Hulu

Luckiest Girl Alive

While this was a film that stood out to me, it should not come without a trigger warning. This is a very intense story with lots of tragedy and traumatic events. Mila Kunis stars as a successful writer with a traumatic past that she tries to put behind her but finds it impossible when a documentary is under production about the events that happened at her high school.

Where To Watch: Netflix

Do Revenge

A high school revenge story that gives you late 80s/90s vibes. This movie reminded me of a less messed up and horrifying version of Heathers (because that type of movie would not fly today) with a mix of a Mean Girls-esque take. The outfits also reminded me of Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion, which drew me into this film even more! Between the aesthetics and a high school revenge story, there is lots of entertainment to be had in this Netflix original.

Where To Watch: Netflix

The Good Nurse

A terrifying but based on true events story about a nurse who is questioned for harming rather than helping patients.

Where To Watch: Netflix

The People We Hate at the Wedding

One of my recent favorite releases starring Kristen Bell, this is a family with lots of dysfunction that come together after years of not being together to celebrate one sister’s wedding. They try to put on a happy face but quickly find it impossible with all the tension. This is a funny must-watch of 2022!
