In honor of National Tequila Day being this Saturday, July 24th, I (Maddie here) am sharing a simple and fun drink for all of y’all who are tequila connoisseurs, much like myself, to enjoy! For any of you who are familiar with Texas drinks this will remind you of the popular Ranch Water and for those of you who are not familiar with the aforementioned beloved Texas drink no worries as I was totally unaware prior to my move to Dallas that there was a name to my usual but always frowned upon drink order at bars in Dallas- a tequila soda water. Luckily, I have found myself living in a state that appreciates a refreshing simple tequila drink much like I do but for instances when I am back home on the east coast- I use this simple fun drink recipe to create a refreshing tequila concoction to enjoy!

Ingredients:

  • Lemon
  • Tequila
  • Soda Water (preferably lemon flavored Soda Water like Lemon LaCroix)
  • Lemon Juice (optional, suggested if you aren’t using flavored soda water)
  • Ice

Recipe:

  1. Place a handful of ice cubes into cup
  2. Pour the single serving size of your choice of Soda Water, for example a 12 oz can of of LaCroix
  3. Add your choice of tequila to the soda water
  4. Cut half a lemon and squeeze the lemon juice into the mixture
  5. Using a stirring utensil, mix the ingredients
  6. Optional:  place the rest of the half squeezed lemon and peel into the drink for extra lemony tasting drink and or add lemon juice to taste
  7. Enjoy 😉
