Hosting a Christmas movie marathon is a great way to tap into the holiday spirit. Here’s how to make the best of it with some self-care tips.
I’m a firm believer in practicing self-care during the holidays to reduce the holiday stress and get into the holiday spirit.
One of my favorite ways to spend a day at home is by binging my favorite Christmas movies and pampering myself. Being that I’m pregnant, self-care has become more of a priority to me than ever before, and what better time to spoil myself than during the cold winter months?
Lately, I have been spending a ton of time at home, between getting ready for the arrival of the twins in a few short months to online shopping and wrapping Christmas presents. If you’re looking for some self-care inspo, here is what I typically do on a day at home this time of year.
Turn On Some Christmas Movies
A self-care day at home isn’t complete without a Christmas movie playing in the background while I hang out around the house. My favorites are Home Alone 1 and 2, The Family Stone, The Holiday, and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. I’ve seen these movies so often that I don’t even need to pay attention, but it’s nice to have them playing as I’m decorating the house or baking cookies. Check out what to watch and where to stream holiday movies.
Bake Some Yummy Treats
Speaking of cookies, I always have to have something to snack on whenever I’m spending the day at home. Aside from it being tasty, I also love the smell of baked goods in the oven. Put On Your Coziest PJs or Loungewear
Putting on my comfiest pair of pajamas or loungewear is essential when I’m having a self-care day–I mean, who can relax while wearing jeans? I’ll usually throw on a cute pair of Christmas pajamas this time of year to get into the holiday spirit, but I also love a matching loungewear moment for a more put-together look.
Pamper Yourself
Take a long hot bath, do a facemask, go for a walk before your movie marathon day. The self-care can be while watching the movie or spread out.
Take A Social Media Break
The perfect way to celebrate a self-care day is to take a social media break. Whether it is limiting yourself to a few minutes that day or signing off altogether, there is no better way to take care of your mental health than just taking care of yourself and giving yourself a break.
