Day Before My Wedding Self-Care And Tips

September 30, 2022

Tomorrow’s the big day!!!

I feel like I don’t even have words to describe how excited I am for tomorrow. It truly feels surreal to be marrying the love of my life in front of all of our family, and I can’t wait to share our love with those who have watched our relationship grow.

Being that it is the day before our wedding, I decided to share some of my best self-care tips for brides-to-be! The day before the wedding should be filled with excitement but so often we hear and see lots of stress surrounding the bride and groom trying to get everything done and everything prepped for the big day!

While I could go on and on about the need to change the whole “outdoing each other and wanting the perfect wedding day” thing – I figured I would focus this post on sharing helpful tips to allow the future brides to ease into their big day and spend their last day as a Ms. with excitement, celebration, and as little worry as possible!

Self-Care Tips For The Day Before Your Wedding:

Get Some Alone Time

It can be hard to get alone time when you have a rehearsal dinner but try your best to take half an hour or longer to go for a walk or watch your favorite movie and just get some quality time. This will also help you stay in the moment.

Put the Phone Down

You likely will be getting texts and calls before your big day from guests and of course, those are well appreciated, but being in communication nonstop can be draining. Put the phone down for a good chunk of your day or make a goal to stop looking at your phone after 6 pm. Plus, it will help you with the next self-care tip:

Prep for a Full Night of Sleep

Prep yourself by taking a hot bath or hot shower to wind down, listening to relaxing music, playing a meditation sound, and practicing things like diaphragmatic breathing which is my biggest aid in falling asleep and going BACK to sleep when I awake in the middle of the night.

Stay Hydrated and Fueled with Nutritional Meals

Sometimes when you get busy you forget your basic needs, like lots of water and food! Make sure to meal prep or order yourself your favorite place for lunch and to have plenty of snacks available. Nothing is worse than hanger and dehydration!

Meditate

Whether it is throughout the day or the night before, meditate because there is no better way to practice being in the present moment than some meditation. You have likely spent so much time planning and the last thing you want is to let your worries cloud your ability to live in the present moment and enjoy the day you have so carefully planned for the past months!

Most importantly, remember that your wedding day is about celebrating your unique union. It is not about having the perfect day for your guests but about making it into a day full of love and celebration and sharing it with your guests! Those that love you and know you best, will think it is a lovely day no matter the weather, the ceremony, or whatever music and entertainment you have planned.
